There isn’t much point going into too many details; we lost and probably deserved to lose too. Despite having a number of penalty corners and more opportunities in the circle than the opposition we just couldn’t score. The basic ability to stop a ball, pass a ball and tackle seemed to have abandoned us today which is why this loss is particularly disappointing.
This seems to be a common pattern to our seasonal play; prior to Christmas we play well and yet after the Christmas break, not so much.
Georgia B was voted player of the match today with some tireless work in the middle of the pitch and her desire to take on the opposition with her skill. With Cath, Amy and Gracie also picking up votes fro their team mates.
Lots to work on in training to avoid this same result and this same feeling of frustration. Hats off to Cambridge though who played the better hockey and ultimately deserved the win.
